THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR PORTIONS OF NEVADA...NORTH
CENTRAL NEVADA...NORTHEAST NEVADA AND SOUTH CENTRAL NEVADA.

.DAY ONE...TODAY.

NO SIGNIFICANT WEATHER IS EXPECTED AT THIS TIME.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...WEDNESDAY THROUGH MONDAY.

A COLD STORM SYSTEM WILL BRING UNSETTLED WEATHER TO THE AREA
WEDNESDAY THROUGH AT LEAST FRIDAY, WITH SHOWERS POSSIBLY
LINGERING INTO SATURDAY ACROSS PARTS OF ELKO COUNTY. A COLD FRONT
WILL DEVELOP AND MOVE THROUGH LATE WEDNESDAY THROUGH THURSDAY,
BRINGING THE INITIAL SURGE OF MOIST AIR, CREATING SHOWERS AND
THUNDERSTORMS ALONG THE FRONT. SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WILL
REDEVELOP FRIDAY.

OVER AN INCH OF RAIN IS POSSIBLE IN THE VALLEYS. AT THIS
TIME, IT APPEARS THAT THE FOCUS OF THE HEAVIEST PRECIPITATION WILL
STRETCH FROM EUREKA COUNTY NORTHWARD THROUGH ELKO COUNTY, AND
AREAS EAST OF THAT LINE.

SNOW LEVELS WILL BE LOWERING TO BELOW 7000 FEET. STORM TOTAL SNOW
AMOUNTS ABOVE THAT LEVEL ARE EXPECTED TO BE AROUND 6 INCHES IN THE
FOCUS AREA. HOWEVER THERE ARE INDICATIONS THAT THERE WILL BE AN
ADDITIONAL SURGE OF MOISTURE INTO NORTHERN NEVADA FROM THE NORTH
AS THE LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM EXITS. THUS, IT IS POSSIBLE THAT THE
HIGH ELEVATIONS OF THE INDEPENDENCE RANGE AND THE JARBIDGE
WILDERNESS COULD TOTAL ALMOST A FOOT OF SNOW BETWEEN WEDNESDAY
AFTERNOON AND SATURDAY MORNING.

SINCE THIS IS AN EARLY COLD STORM, TRAVEL MAY BE IMPACTED OVER
SUCH PLACES AS PEQUOP SUMMIT, H D SUMMIT, AND EMIGRANT SUMMIT.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

SPOTTERS ARE ASKED TO REPORT WEATHER PHENOMENA ACCORDING TO
STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURE.
