  LAKE PONTCHARTRAIN AND LAKE MAUREPAS...

AT 357 PM CDT...DOPPLER RADAR AND SURFACE OBSERVATIONS INDICATED A
STRONG THUNDERSTORM...CAPABLE OF PRODUCING WINDS TO AROUND 30 KNOTS.
THIS THUNDERSTORM WAS LOCATED AT LAKEFRONT AIRPORT...MOVING
NORTHEAST AT 10 KNOTS. SURFACE OBSERVATIONS OF 29 KNOTS WAS MEASURED
AT THE AIRPORT.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

MARINERS CAN EXPECT GUSTY WINDS TO AROUND 30 KNOTS...LOCALLY HIGHER
WAVES...AND LIGHTNING STRIKES. BOATERS SHOULD SEEK SAFE HARBOR
