THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN MEDFORD HAS ISSUED A HAZARDOUS
SEAS WATCH...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM SATURDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH
SUNDAY MORNING.

* WINDS..WINDS ARE EXPECTED TO INCREASE TO SOUTHEAST 15 TO 25 KT
  SATURDAY MORNING INTO EARLY SATURDAY AFTERNOON...THEN INCREASE
  TO SOUTH GALES AT 30 TO 40 KT LATE SATURDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH
  SATURDAY NIGHT. WINDS ARE EXPECTED TO LOWER SUNDAY MORNING.

* SEAS...SEAS ARE EXPECTED TO BUILD TO STEEP 6 TO 9 FT SEAS LATE
  SATURDAY MORNING INTO EARLY SATURDAY AFTERNOON...THEN BECOME MAY
  BECOME VERY STEEP WIND-DRIVEN SEAS OF 10 TO 16 FEET LATE
  SATURDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH SATURDAY NIGHT. VERY STEEP SEAS MAY
  PERSIST THROUGH SUNDAY MORNING.

* AREAS AFFECTED...GALES ARE POSSIBLE GENERALLY BEYOND 5 NM FROM
  SHORE EXCEPT CLOSER TO SHORE NEAR CAPE BLANCO. VERY STEEP
  HAZARDOUS SEAS ARE POSSIBLE ACROSS ALL THE WATERS.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A GALE WATCH IS ISSUED WHEN THE RISK OF GALE FORCE WINDS OF 34 TO
47 KNOTS HAS SIGNIFICANTLY INCREASED, BUT THE SPECIFIC TIMING
AND/OR LOCATION IS STILL UNCERTAIN. IT IS INTENDED TO PROVIDE
ADDITIONAL LEAD TIME FOR MARINERS WHO MAY WISH TO CONSIDER
ALTERING THEIR PLANS.

A HAZARDOUS SEAS WATCH IS ISSUED WHEN THE RISK OF VERY STEEP AND
HAZARDOUS SEAS HAS SIGNIFICANTLY INCREASED, BUT THE SPECIFIC
TIMING AND/OR LOCATION IS STILL UNCERTAIN.  IT IS INTENDED TO
PROVIDE ADDITIONAL LEAD TIME FOR MARINERS WHO MAY WISH TO
CONSIDER ALTERING THEIR PLANS.
