...VERY HOT TEMPERATURES TODAY INTO THURSDAY...

.A STRONG UPPER RIDGE BUILDING WESTWARD FROM THE GREAT BASIN WILL
BRING VERY HOT CONDITIONS TO THE INTERIOR VALLEYS OF NORTHWEST
CALIFORNIA. A MONSOONAL MOISTURE FLOW FROM THE SOUTH WILL ALSO
BRING SOME LOW LEVEL MOISTURE TO THE REGION. THIS WILL CAUSE THE
OVERNIGHT LOWS REMAIN IN THE UPPER 60S TO LOWER 70S. WITH HIGH
OVERNIGHT LOWS AND DAYTIME HIGHS NEAR 110...A HEAT ADVISORY
CONTINUES IN EFFECT. TEMPERATURE WILL FALL SLIGHTLY BY FRIDAY.

1 AM FRIDAY...

* LOCATIONS: TRINITY COUNTY VALLEYS AND FAR EASTERN DEL NORTE
  AND NORTHEASTERN HUMBOLDT COUNTIES.

* TIMING: TEMPERATURES WILL RISE RAPIDLY TODAY...PEAKING IN THE
  AFTERNOON HOURS. OVERNIGHT TEMPERATURES WILL REMAIN WARM ONLY TO
  RISE QUICKLY ONCE AGAIN ON THURSDAY.

* TEMPERATURES: HIGHS ARE EXPECTED TO REACH 105 TO 110 ON
  WEDNESDAY. OVERNIGHT LOW WILL ONLY DIP INTO THE UPPER 60S THEN
  RISE QUICKLY AGAIN THURSDAY TO AROUND 105.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A HEAT ADVISORY MEANS THAT A PERIOD OF HOT TEMPERATURES IS
EXPECTED. DRINK PLENTY OF FLUIDS...STAY IN AN AIR-CONDITIONED
ROOM...STAY OUT OF THE SUN...AND CHECK UP ON RELATIVES AND
NEIGHBORS.

TAKE EXTRA PRECAUTIONS IF YOU WORK OR SPEND TIME OUTSIDE. WHEN
POSSIBLE...RESCHEDULE STRENUOUS ACTIVITIES TO EARLY MORNING OR
EVENING. KNOW THE SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS OF HEAT EXHAUSTION AND HEAT
STROKE. WEAR LIGHT WEIGHT AND LOOSE FITTING CLOTHING WHEN POSSIBLE
