AFTERNOON...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN SALT LAKE CITY HAS ISSUED A HIGH
WIND WATCH...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM MONDAY EVENING THROUGH
TUESDAY AFTERNOON.

* AFFECTED AREA...THE NORTHERN WASATCH FRONT FROM BRIGHAM CITY
  SOUTHWARD TO NORTH SALT LAKE.

* WINDS...EAST WINDS 35 TO 45 MPH WITH GUSTS IN EXCESS OF 60 MPH.

* TIMING...DEVELOPING LATE MONDAY EVENING AND STRENGTHENING
  OVERNIGHT BEFORE PEAKING TUESDAY MORNING. THESE WINDS ARE
  EXPECTED TO GRADUALLY DIMINISH TUESDAY AFTERNOON INTO TUESDAY
  EVENING.

* IMPACTS...STRONG CROSSWINDS ARE POSSIBLE ALONG I-15 AND HIGHWAY
  89 THROUGH DAVIS AND WEBER COUNTIES. LOOSE OBJECTS SUCH AS TRASH
  CANS...TRAMPOLINES AND LAWN ORNAMENTS MAY BECOME AIRBORNE.
  SIGNIFICANT BLOWING AND DRIFTING OF SNOW MAY CAUSE GREATLY
  REDUCED VISIBILITY AND SLICK ROADWAYS. VERY COLD WIND CHILLS CAN
  ALSO BE EXPECTED.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A HIGH WIND WATCH MEANS THERE IS THE POTENTIAL FOR A HAZARDOUS
HIGH WIND EVENT. SUSTAINED WIND SPEEDS OF AT LEAST 40 MPH OR GUSTS
OF 58 MPH OR STRONGER MAY OCCUR. CONTINUE TO MONITOR THE LATEST
FORECASTS.
