...RED FLAG WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 PM CDT /8 PM MDT/
THIS EVENING FOR RELATIVE HUMIDITY OF 15% OR LESS, 20` WINDS OF 20
MPH OR MORE, AND HIGH TO EXTREME FIRE DANGER FOR THE GUADALUPE,
DAVIS, AND APACHE MOUNTAINS, SOUTHEAST NEW MEXICO PLAINS, PORTIONS
OF THE WESTERN LOW ROLLING PLAINS AND PERMIAN BASIN, VAN HORN AND
THE HIGHWAY 54 CORRIDOR, REEVES COUNTY AND THE UPPER TRANS PECOS,
AND MARFA AND STOCKTON PLATEAUS...

.An upper level storm system will move through the region this afternoon
and tonight. Strong southwest to west winds will combine with
high temperatures 5 to 10 degrees above normal, and consequent
minimum relative humidity around 15 percent or less, to result in
critical fire weather conditions along and west of a Seminole to
Fort Stockton line.

* HUMIDITY...6 to 15%.

* WIND...Southwest to west winds 20 to 35 mph with gusts to 50
  mph.

* TEMPERATURES...5 to 10 degrees above normal.

* THUNDERSTORMS...Isolated dry lightning strikes.

* IMPACTS...any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly.
  Outdoor burning is not recommended.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now or will shortly.   A combination of
strong winds, low relative humidity and warm temperatures can
contribute to dangerous fire behavior.
