...River Statement For The Upper Tombigbee River...

Forecast rainfall during the next 36 hours will produce rises on
the upper Tombigbee River.  However...levels are expected to
remain below established flood stages...and any overflow along the
river should be of a minor nature.

The Tombigbee River At Bevill Lock and Dam.
 Latest Stage:     114.4 Feet AT 7 AM Wednesday.
 Flood Stage:      122 Feet.
 Forecast:         Crest near 121.5 Feet Friday morning
                   and then begin to fall.

* Impact...At 122 feet...Cattle in low-lying areas of Southern
  Pickens County should be moved to higher ground. Cattle are cutoff
  in lowlands of Southern Pickens County at stages above 122 feet.


This will be the last statement issued on this event unless it becomes
necessary to revise the forecast upward.
