WEATHER SUMMARY FOR MAINE AND NEW HAMPSHIRE

AS COLD HIGH PRESSURE SETTLED INTO THE AREA OVERNIGHT...
TEMPERATURES FELL INTO THE SINGLE DIGITS ALONG THE COAST AND BELOW
ZERO IN THE INLAND AREAS. TEMPERATURES AS COLD AS 25 BELOW WERE
OBSERVED IN SHELTERED NORTHERN VALLEYS.

AFTER SUCH A COLD START THIS MORNING... TEMPERATURES WILL ONLY WARM
UP INTO THE TEENS AND 20S TODAY EVEN WITH PLENTY OF SUNSHINE. BUT AN
END TO THE PERPETUAL COLD IS FINALLY IN SIGHT. A GRADUAL WARM UP IS
EXPECTED BEGINNING THIS WEEKEND AND LASTING THROUGH THE FIRST HALF
OF NEXT WEEK. BY TUESDAY THE TEMPERATURE WILL RISE ABOVE FREEZING
ACROSS ALL OF NEW HAMPSHIRE AND MAINE... WITH MANY SOUTHERN AND
COASTAL AREAS SEEING TEMPERATURES IN THE 40S.

ANOTHER COLD FRONT IS EXPECTED ON WEDNESDAY WHICH WILL BRING COLDER
AIR BACK INTO THE REGION FOR THE END OF THE WEEK.
