WEATHER SYNOPSIS
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE PADUCAH KY
554 AM CST SAT FEB 25 2017

UNLIKE THE UNUSUALLY WARM AND RECORD BREAKING TEMPERATURES THAT
OCCURRED THIS PAST WEEK, TEMPERATURES WILL START OUT NEAR THE
FREEZING MARK AT DAYBREAK THIS SATURDAY.

PARTS OF SOUTHERN ILLINOIS, SOUTHWEST INDIANA, AND WEST KENTUCKY
WILL SEE SOME SNOW FLURRIES THIS MORNING, BEFORE CLOUDS CLEAR OUT
LATER IN THE DAY.

DESPITE DECREASING CLOUDINESS EXPECTED LATER TODAY, BRISK
NORTHWEST WINDS WILL KEEP TEMPERATURES IN THE UPPER 30S NEAR THE
INTERSTATE 64 CORRIDOR OF SOUTHERN ILLINOIS AND SOUTHWEST INDIANA.
MIDDLE 40S WILL BE POSSIBLE ACROSS PARTS OF SOUTHEAST MISSOURI.

THE COLD TEMPERATURES WILL PERSIST INTO SATURDAY NIGHT, AS LOWS
IN THE MIDDLE 20S BLANKET THE AREA. THIS WILL PRODUCE A DRAMATIC
CHANGE FOR PERSONS AND ANIMALS SPENDING TIME OUTDOORS THIS
WEEKEND. ALTHOUGH MOST EARLY BLOOMING PLANTS, SHRUBS, AND TREES
WILL WEATHER THESE COLD TEMPERATURES, SOME MAY BE IMPACTED BY THE
PROLONGED BELOW FREEZING TEMPERATURES SATURDAY NIGHT.

THE COLD WEATHER WILL BE SHORT LIVED, AS SOUTHERLY WINDS RETURN
VERY LATE SATURDAY NIGHT. THE SOUTHERLY WINDS WILL RAISE
TEMPERATURES BY AT LEAST 10 DEGREES ON SUNDAY. A CHANCE OF RAIN
WILL MOVE INTO SOUTHEAST MISSOURI BY LATE SUNDAY.

RAIN CHANCES WILL REMAIN IN THE PICTURE THROUGH EARLY NEXT
WEDNESDAY. THUNDERSTORM CHANCES WILL ALSO INCREASE TUESDAY INTO
WEDNESDAY. A FEW OF THE THUNDERSTORMS MAY BECOME STRONG TO SEVERE
OVER
A SMALL PART OF THE QUAD STATE REGION NEXT TUESDAY AND TUESDAY
NIGHT.
