...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR BLOWING SNOW IN EFFECT FROM 9 PM
THIS EVENING TO 4 PM AKST WEDNESDAY FOR THOMPSON PASS...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN ANCHORAGE HAS ISSUED A WINTER
WEATHER ADVISORY FOR BLOWING SNOW...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 9 PM
THIS EVENING TO 4 PM AKST WEDNESDAY.

* LOCATION...THOMPSON PASS.

* WIND...NORTHEAST WINDS 30 TO 45 MPH.

* VISIBILITY...REDUCED TO 1/2 MILE OR LESS AT TIMES.

* TIMING...NORTHEAST WINDS WILL INCREASE RAPIDLY THIS EVENING
  THROUGH THOMPSON PASS GENERATING AREAS OF BLOWING SNOW. THESE
  CONDITIONS WILL CONTINUE THROUGH WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON.
  ADDITIONALLY 2 TO 4 INCHES OF NEW SNOW IS EXPECTED TO FALL ON
  WEDNESDAY WHICH WILL ALSO REDUCE VISIBILITIES.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR BLOWING SNOW MEANS THAT VISIBILITIES
WILL BE LIMITED DUE TO STRONG WINDS BLOWING SNOW AROUND. USE
CAUTION WHEN TRAVELING...ESPECIALLY IN OPEN AREAS.
