.DAY ONE... TODAY AND TONIGHT

HOT AND DRY CONDITIONS WILL PREVAIL ACROSS SOUTHWESTERN CALIFORNIA
TODAY. AWAY FROM THE COAST...AFTERNOON TEMPERATURES WILL CLIMB INTO
THE UPPER 90S TO 105. DESPITE A LACK OF STRONG WINDS...WITH THE HOT
AND DRY CONDITIONS EXTREME FIRE BEHAVIOR IS POSSIBLE IF A FIRE WERE
TO START...ESPECIALLY IN THE MOUNTAINS.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN... SUNDAY THROUGH FRIDAY

THE SIGNIFICANT HEAT WAVE WILL CONTINUE ACROSS THE AREA THROUGH
TUESDAY. DUE TO AN INFLUX OF MOISTURE FROM NORTHERN MEXICO...HEAT
INDEX VALUES ARE EXPECTED TO REACH CRITICAL LEVELS ACROSS PARTS OF
LOS ANGELES COUNTY SUNDAY THROUGH TUESDAY. ALONG WITH THE CONTINUED
HOT TEMPERATURES...ELEVATED FIRE DANGER WILL PERSIST THROUGH AT
LEAST MONDAY. ON WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY...THE AREA WILL BEGIN TO
EXPERIENCE IMPACTS FROM HURRICANE ODILE. HIGH SURF AND DANGEROUS RIP
CURRENTS WILL BE POSSIBLE ALONG THE LOCAL BEACHES DUE TO SWELL FROM
THE HURRICANE. ADDITIONALLY...MOISTURE FROM THE HURRICANE WILL MOVE
INTO THE AREA WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY...BRINGING THE THREAT OF SOME
SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS TO PARTS OF THE DISTRICT.
