.SHORT TERM...Tonight through Monday night...Cool northwesterly
flow will continue through the short term, keeping temperatures
a few degrees below normal through Sunday. Scattered showers
possible over the central ID mountains this afternoon and Sunday
afternoon, with breezy west to northwest winds both afternoons,
and light winds overnight. A cold front will move through the
area Sunday night bringing lower snow levels, mountain snow and
valley rain showers. Snow levels fall to 3500-4500ft MSL by
Monday afternoon. Snow accumulations up to 2 inches on the
highest peaks with this system above 7000 feet. Temperatures on
Monday will be around 10-15 degrees below normal. Windy
conditions expected behind the front on Monday afternoon, with
west- northwest wind gusts of 45-55 mph possible in the Magic
Valley, Camas Prairie and the Treasure Valley. Will wait
to issue highlights for this as confidence increases and the
event gets closer.

.LONG TERM...Tuesday through Saturday...A cool upper level
trough will remain over the area through Thursday keeping a
chance of showers, low snow levels, and temperatures 10-15
degrees below normal. Snow levels will be around 3500-4500 feet,
with light snow accumulations possible over the mountains through
Thursday. Forecast confidence beyond Thursday is low, but some
guidance still suggests continued cool and unsettled conditions
into Saturday. The ensembles however favor warmer and drier
conditions Thursday into the following weekend with temperatures
rising to near normal.
