Fire Weather Planning Forecast for New Mexico and Far West Texas
National Weather Service El Paso TX/Santa Teresa NM
126 PM MDT Wed May 8 2024

...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 PM MDT THIS EVENING...

.DISCUSSION...
Very dry air will remain in place tonight and tomorrow. Min RH
values will drop to near 10%. Winds will not be as strong,
however, topping out around 10 to 15 MPH with higher gusts.
Elevated to locally near critical conditions are expected, but no
red flag will be issued. Venting will be excellent. A boundary
arrives overnight Thursday that will bring a shallow, moist air
mass that will primarily help with overnight recoveries because it
will move back east during the afternoon.
