Regional Weather Summary for the High Plains

Much colder air moved into the region Sunday night behind a strong
cold front. Rain changed to snow, which was heavy at times. In
addition to the snow, north winds gusting 40 to 60 mph resulted in
considerable blowing and drifting and blizzard to near blizzard
conditions in many areas. Overnight temperatures ranged from the
upper teens to middle 20s.

OUTLOOK... light to occasionally moderate snow will continue
through this afternoon, ending tonight. North winds gusting up to
50 mph will result in areas of blowing and drifting snow and
blizzard to near blizzard conditions. Additional snow amounts
today will range from 1 to 5 inches, highest amounts north of
Interstate 70 in northwest Kansas and southwest Nebraska. High
temperatures will be in the upper 20s to lower 30s and lows
tonight in the single digits and teens. Tuesday and Wednesday will
see dry conditions and gradually warming temperatures.
