227 FNUS72 KJAX 262209 FWSJAX Spot Forecast for Turtle Crawl - Foot Race...Jekyll Island Fire Department National Weather Service Jacksonville FL 609 PM EDT Fri Apr 26 2024 Forecast is based on forecast start time of 0500 EDT on April 27. If conditions become unrepresentative, contact the National Weather Service. Please contact our office at (904) 741-4370 if you have questions or concerns with this forecast. .DISCUSSION... High pressure will be located to the northeast of the area through Saturday. Weak troughs are expected to develop over the coastal waters in the onshore flow, which will result in a few showers. These showers will move ashore at times Saturday. Right now it looks like the best chance for these coastal showers at this site will be in the morning. Forecasting the location of and timing of these bands is a challenge, so while showers are not in the forecast into the afternoon, they can not be completely ruled out. Due to convergence in this onshore flow, elevated and gusty winds are also expected. .SATURDAY...
