.DISCUSSION...
Issued at 1035 AM EDT Wed Apr 24 2024

Another quiet, typical dry season start to the day across the
Florida Keys. High pressure settling across the western Atlantic
is maintaining a slightly north of east wind with speeds
generally 15 knots (or 17 mph) or less across the region. Despite
some weak cyclonic flow aloft, a deep layer of dry air is
inhibiting precipitation chances. Moisture is confined mainly to
the boundary layer and cu will on occasion continue to develop
beneath an inversion location just above 850 mb. Otherwise,
temperatures are in the upper 70s to near 80 as of 1030 AM with
dew points just under 70 degrees.

No changes needed to the forecast today. Surface high coupled with
deep dry air aloft will continue to suppress any vertical growth.
As a result near nil PoPs will persist. As the Florida Peninsula
heats up this afternoon, a thermal trough will develop. This in
turn will bifurcate the already weak high pressure and lead to a
minor slackening of winds this afternoon, which will then recover
overnight as the aforementioned trough dissipates.

.MARINE...
Issued at 1035 AM EDT Wed Apr 24 2024

No watches, warnings, or advisories are currently in effect. Gentle
to moderate breezes will prevail over the next couple of days as
high pressure moves from the Southeastern states offshore into the
western Atlantic. This high will be subsumed into a larger high
spreading into the western North Atlantic late this week and into
the weekend. This will be accompanied by freshening easterly
breezes across the Keys waters.

.AVIATION...
(15Z TAFS)
Issued at 1035 AM EDT Wed Apr 24 2024

Dry, VFR conditions will dominate at EYW and MTH through the
upcoming TAF period. Near-surface easterly winds will remain near 10
knots and are sufficiently southerly to rule out potential cloud
lines, and brief MVFR CIGs are unlikely.
