...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FOR LEWIS AND EASTERN KNOX
COUNTIES UNTIL 300 PM CDT...

ALTHOUGH THE STORMS WHICH PRODUCED THE HEAVY RAIN DURING THE MORNING
HAS MOVED OUT OF THE WARNING AREA...RUNOFF FROM THIS RAIN IS
CONTINUING THE FLASH FLOOD THREAT EARLY THIS AFTERNOON.  SHORTLY
AFTER 1 PM...THE LEWIS COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGER REPORTED FLOODING IS
OCCURRING ON SOME SECONDARY ROADS DUE TO RUNOFF FROM FARM FIELDS.
HE ALSO REPORTED THAT 4.25 INCHES OF RAIN FELL IN EDINA BETWEEN 730
AM AND 1 PM.

SOME LOCATIONS THAT WILL EXPERIENCE FLASH FLOODING INCLUDE...EDINA...
COLONY...EWING...KNOX CITY...LA BELLE...LEWISTOWN...PLEVNA AND
STEFFENVILLE.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A FLASH FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLASH FLOODING IS IMMINENT OR
OCCURRING. IF YOU ARE IN THE WARNING AREA...MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND
IMMEDIATELY. RESIDENTS LIVING ALONG STREAMS AND CREEKS SHOULD TAKE
IMMEDIATE PRECAUTIONS TO PROTECT LIFE AND PROPERTY. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO
CROSS SWIFTLY FLOWING WATERS OR WATERS OF UNKNOWN DEPTH BY FOOT OR BY
AUTOMOBILE.

REPORT FLOODING TO THE NEAREST LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCY SO THAT THEY
MAY TAKE APPROPRIATE ACTION TO CLOSE FLOODED ROADWAYS. THEY WILL
RELAY YOUR REPORT TO THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN ST LOUIS.
