Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Eastern/Central MO and Southwest IL
National Weather Service Saint Louis MO
303 AM CDT Mon Apr 22 2024

.DISCUSSION...

A warm up begins today as the wind turns southwesterly and
temperatures rise into the upper 60s and low 70s. With moisture
return lacking, we`ll see very low humidity this afternoon with
much of the area falling to 30 percent or below. Southwest winds
will be greatest in central and northern parts of the region where
gusts to 25 or 30 mph are possible. Further south over the Ozarks
winds will be lighter, gusting only to 15 or 20 mph. Moisture
improves tonight into Tuesday with a widespread chance of light
showers ahead of a cold front. This front shifts winds to the
north and brings a briefly cooler air mass for Wednesday. Later
this week we transition to a warmer, more humid, and often
unstable pattern with increasing chances for thunderstorms.
