statement for the following river...


  Kaskaskia River affecting Vandalia


.This hydrologic statement is based on yesterdays rainfall onto saturated ground...

Safety message:  Never drive cars, trucks, or sport utility vehicles
through flooded areas.  The water may be too deep to allow for safe
passage.

  Kaskaskia River at Vandalia.
* At 10AM Friday the stage was 15.2 feet.
* No flooding is currently forecast.
* Flood stage is 18.0 feet.
* Forecast:  The river will crest below flood stage near 15.7 feet this evening,
  then fall.
