...The National Weather Service in St Louis has issued a hydrologic
statement for the following rivers...


  Meramec River at

      Valley Park

      Arnold


  Big River at

      Byrnesville


.This hydrologic statement is based on heavy rainfall across the
area over the past several days with some portion of the rise
on the Meramec due to backwater effects from the rising Mississippi
River...


Safety message:  Never drive cars, trucks, or sport utility vehicles
through flooded areas.  The water may be too deep to allow for safe
passage.

Forecast information for
  Meramec River at Valley Park.
* At 9 AM Sunday the stage was 11.1 feet.
* No flooding is currently forecast.
* Flood stage is 16.0 feet.
* The river is forecast to crest near 12.6 feet late tonight.
* At 12.0 feet... Sluice gates at 5th Street, 3rd Street, and Fishpot
  Creek at Union Pacific Railway tracks must be closed.

Forecast information for
  The Meramec River near Arnold
* At 9 AM Sunday the stage was 20.3 feet.
* Minor flooding is possible.
* Flood stage is 24.0 feet.
* The river is forecast to rise to near flood stage Wednesday morning.
  Additional rises above flood stage are possible. Stay tuned for the
  latest forecast updates.

  Big River at Byrnesville.
* At 9 AM Sunday the stage was 15.7 feet.
* No flooding is currently forecast.
* Flood stage is 16.0 feet.
* The river is recently crested just below flood stage very early this
  morning and is forecast to continue to fall to near 10.0 feet Tuesday
  morning.
