...The National Weather Service in St Louis has issued a hydrologic
statement for the following river...


  Kaskaskia River at

      Vandalia


.This hydrologic statement is based on heavy rainfall across the basin
earlier this week...


Safety message:  Never drive cars, trucks, or sport utility vehicles
through flooded areas.  The water may be too deep to allow for safe
passage.

Forecast information for
  Kaskaskia River at Vandalia.
* At 8 AM Saturday the stage was 17.4 feet.
* No flooding is currently forecast.
* Flood stage is 18.0 feet.
* Forecast:  The river recently crested near 17.7 feet late last night
  and is forecast to fall to near 11.6 feet Monday morning.
