Areas affected...north-central Oklahoma

Concerning...Severe Thunderstorm Watch 167...

Valid 010245Z - 010345Z

The severe weather threat for Severe Thunderstorm Watch 167
continues.

SUMMARY...Severe wind and hail threat continues within WW165 and
WW167.

DISCUSSION...A line of thunderstorms moving SSE out of Kansas
continues to produce reports of winds 50-60 mph (strongest gusts
earlier 70+ mph) along with recent reports of hail up to 1.25 in
near Ponca City, OK. This line of storms continues to move toward a
favorable air mass, with ample moisture and MLCAPE around
2,000-3,000 J/kg. 850 mb analysis shows this convection is
juxtaposed with a 40-kt southerly low-level jet. This will promote
further potential for instances of damaging wind and large hail. The
potential for damaging winds is most likely across the eastern
portion of this line, where radar is indicating downdrafts capable
of winds 50-65 mph.
