.Discussion...Unstable and cool northerly flow has triggered
scattered showers across Northwest Montana where they will linger
through this evening.

A ridge of high pressure will build over the region and bring
warmer and dry weather through Saturday.

Low pressure system returns Sunday through much of next week. The
large trough across the west will keep temperatures below normal
with widespread shower activity throughout the week. The two
periods that the models are showing the best potential for impacts
is Sunday night into Monday where snow is expected over Lost Trail
Pass and the higher elevations of southwest Montana. Amounts will
be light. Tuesday night into Wednesday will be the other period
with widespread showers. Upslope precipitation will impact the
Continental Divide with Marias Pass has a 50% chance of receiving
2 inches of snow by Wednesday morning.

Model guidance is showing a trend toward drier and warmer weather
by next weekend May 11th.
