...WINTER STORM WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM TUESDAY AFTERNOON
THROUGH LATE WEDNESDAY NIGHT...
* WHAT...Snow with blizzard conditions and freezing rain
possible. Total snow accumulations of up to two inches
possible. Winds could gust as high as 50 mph. Visibility could
be one quarter mile or less at times. Ice accumulation of a
light glaze possible.
* WHERE...Western Arctic Coast.
* WHEN...From Tuesday afternoon through late Wednesday night.
* IMPACTS...Plan on difficult travel conditions. Areas of
blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. Snow
drifts could form. Freezing rain could make slippery travel
surfaces.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Snow and blowing snow with winds gusting
to 30 mph and low visibility are expected to develop Tuesday
afternoon. Winds are expected to increase to 40 mph Tuesday
night, and to 50 mph on Wednesday. Visibility will go up and
down Tuesday night and Wednesday as bands of snow pass
through. Winds are expected to decrease Thursday.
