...FLASH FLOOD EMERGENCY FOR SOUTHERN SUMNER COUNTY INCLUDING
HENDERSONVILLE AND GALLATIN...

The National Weather Service in Nashville has extended the

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Southern Sumner County in middle Tennessee...

* Until 1000 AM CDT Thursday.

* At 1016 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
  heavy rain continue to impact the warned area. Between 5 and 7
  inches of rain have fallen with rainfall rates up to 4 inches per
  hour. Dangerous Flash flooding is ongoing and will continue
  through the night.

  This is a FLASH FLOOD EMERGENCY for Southern Sumner County
  including Hendersonville and Gallatin. This is a PARTICULARLY
  DANGEROUS SITUATION. SEEK HIGHER GROUND NOW!

  HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms
           producing flash flooding.

  SOURCE...Radar.

  IMPACT...This is a PARTICULARLY DANGEROUS SITUATION. SEEK
           HIGHER GROUND NOW! Life threatening flash flooding of
           low water crossings, small creeks and streams, urban
           areas, highways, streets and underpasses.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Gallatin, Hendersonville, Goodlettsville, Millersville, Lakewood,
  Green Hill and Bledsoe Creek State Park.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Move to higher ground now! This is an extremely dangerous and
life-threatening situation. Do not attempt to travel unless you are
fleeing an area subject to flooding or under an evacuation order.

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
