SOUTHEASTERN BERNALILLO COUNTY...

AT 1001 PM MDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR AND AUTOMATED
RAIN GAUGES INDICATED THUNDERSTORMS PRODUCING HEAVY RAIN OVER THE
WARNED AREA. ONE TO TWO INCHES OF RAIN HAVE FALLEN WITH CONSIDERABLE
RUNOFF OCCURRING.

LOCATIONS IMPACTED INCLUDE...
SOUTHERN ALBUQUERQUE AND SOUTH VALLEY.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND NOW. ACT QUICKLY TO PROTECT YOUR LIFE.

BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE THE
DANGERS OF FLASH FLOODING.

DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY. THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO CROSS
SAFELY.

ARROYOS...STREAMS AND NORMALLY DRY WASHES CAN BECOME RAGING CURRENTS
IN A MATTER OF MINUTES. WATER IN ARROYOS MAY TRAVEL MANY MILES AND
TAKE HOURS
TO REACH YOUR LOCATION FROM UPSTREAM RAIN AREAS.
