...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FOR SOUTHERN FRANKLIN COUNTY
UNTIL 900 PM CDT...

OFF AND ON SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WILL CONTINUE IN AND AROUND
SOUTHERN FRANKLIN COUNTY INTO THE EVENING.  SO FAR TODAY 2 TO 4
INCHES OF RAIN HAS LIKELY FALLEN FROM AROUND MEG AND ETNA TO THE
OZARK AND ALTUS AREAS.  FLOODING OF LOW-LYING AREA...DITCHES AND
STREAMS IS LIKELY...WITH LOCALIZED FLASH FLOODING EXPECTED DURING
ANY PERIODS OF MODERATE TO HEAVY RAIN.  CEDAR CREEK IS MOST AT RISK
FOR SIGNIFICANT FLASH FLOODING.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE WATER COVERS THE ROAD TO
UNKNOWN DEPTHS. IT ONLY TAKES TWO FEET OF RUSHING WATER TO CARRY AWAY
MOST SPORT UTILITY VEHICLES AND PICKUPS. TAKE A DIFFERENT ROUTE TO
REACH YOUR DESTINATION OR WAIT UNTIL THE WATER RECEDES. REMEMBER...
MOST FLOOD RELATED DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES.

LOW WATER CROSSINGS IN HILLY TERRAIN ARE ESPECIALLY DANGEROUS IN
HEAVY RAIN. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO TRAVEL ACROSS FLOODED ROADS. FIND
ALTERNATE ROUTES. IT ONLY TAKES A FEW INCHES OF SWIFTLY FLOWING WATER
TO CARRY VEHICLES AWAY.
