The National Weather Service in Birmingham has issued a

* Flood Advisory for Minor Flooding in Poor Drainage Areas for...
  Northwestern Pike County in southeastern Alabama...
  Southwestern Bullock County in southeastern Alabama...
  Southeastern Lowndes County in south central Alabama...
  Southern Montgomery County in south central Alabama...

* Until 800 PM CDT

* At 606 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to showers
  and a few thunderstorms. This will cause minor flooding.
  Overflowing poor drainage areas will result in minor flooding in
  the advisory area. One to two inches of rain will fall in a short
  perod of time.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
  Meadville, Pine Level, Strata, Dublin, Naftel, Franklin Field,
  Beans Crossroads, Shopton, Grady, Sellers, Davenport, Ramer,
  Lapine, High Ridge, China Grove, Currys, Simsville and Orion.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Keep children away from storm drains, culverts, creeks and streams.
Water levels can rise rapidly and sweep children away.

Stay away or be swept away. River banks and culverts can become
unstable and unsafe.
