Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Central/Northern Vermont and
Northern New York
National Weather Service Burlington VT
452 AM EDT Thu Oct 19 2017

...Gusty South to southwesterly winds expected today...

.DISCUSSION...
With high pressure to our east and an advancing cold front expect
south to southwesterly winds to increase through the morning
hours and become quite gusty. Expect gusts up to 20-25 mph across
the North Country with gusts to 30 in the Saint Lawrence valley.
With temperatures well above seasonable normals and a dry airmass
in place, expect minimum relative humidities in the 35-40% range
for Vermont and 40-47% across New York. Anticipate near full
recovery overnight as the RH`s should increase to 75-85% during
the evening hours.

After a brief cool down Friday temps will return to well above
seasonal levels for mid to late October and continue through the
upcoming weekend. The next chance of appreciable precipitation
occurs by Monday into Tuesday of next week as a cold front crosses
the area from west to east.
