FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR NORTHERN ALABAMA
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HUNTSVILLE AL
436 AM CDT TUE JUL 28 2015

.DISCUSSION...
AN UPPER-LEVEL RIDGE OF HIGH PRESSURE WILL REMAIN ANCHORED
ACROSS THE SOUTHERN PLAINS THROUGH WEDNESDAY...PROVIDING HOT
AND HUMID CONDITIONS TO MUCH OF THE SOUTH CENTRAL U.S. ACROSS
THE CENTRAL TENNESSEE VALLEY...HEAT INDEX VALUES WILL EXCEED
105 DEGREES FOR MOST OF NORTHWEST AND NORTH CENTRAL ALABAMA...
AND A HEAT ADVISORY HAS BEEN ISSUED TO HIGHLIGHT THE DANGEROUS
COMBINATION OF HEAT AND HUMIDITY. A FEW LOCATIONS MAY EXPERIENCE
SOME COOLING RELIEF FROM WIDELY SCATTERED SHOWERS/STORMS...BUT
THIS WILL BE ONLY TEMPORARY. SMOKE DISPERSION WILL BE GENERALLY
GOOD TODAY...BUT SHOULD INCREASE FURTHER BY WEDNESDAY AS
TRANSPORT WINDS STRENGTHEN. A COLD FRONT IS STILL EXPECTED TO
PUSH SOUTHWARD ON THURSDAY BRINGING A GREATER COVERAGE OF
SHOWERS/STORMS TO THE AREA. NORTHERLY WINDS WILL SPREAD A DRIER
AIRMASS SOUTHWARD IN THE WAKE OF THE FRONT...WITH AFTERNOON RH
FALLING TO 35-40 PERCENT FOR NW ALABAMA THIS WEEKEND.
