FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR UPPER MICHIGAN
National Weather Service Marquette MI
519 AM EDT Tue Sep 19 2017

...UNSEASONABLY WARM WEATHER IS ON THE WAY FOR LATER THIS WEEK...

.DISCUSSION: The main concern through the week will be the
warming trend towards unseasonably, and possible record warmth by
Friday. Today high temperatures are expected to climb into the low
to mid 70s, but expect temperatures to warm a bit each day. Friday
looks to be the warmest day with temperatures climbing into the
80s, and possibly near 90 degrees out west. Along with the warm
temperatures, humidity will also be on the increase as dew points
climb into the mid to upper 60s through the end of the week.
Therefore, not expected RHs to drop below 40%. Wednesday into
Thursday a cold front will push east across Upper Michigan
bringing scattered showers and thunderstorms. Ahead of the front,
strong and gusty south-southwest winds are expected to develop. In
some locations, especially in downslope areas near Lake Superior,
wind gusts could approach 30 to 35 mph at times on Wednesday
afternoon.
