FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR NW OREGON AND SW WASHINGTON
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE PORTLAND OR
241 PM PDT TUE MAY 26 2015

...WARMING AND DRYING TREND EXPECTED THE NEXT FEW DAYS...

.BROADCAST DISCUSSION...ONSHORE FLOW CONTINUES THIS AFTERNOON
ALONG WITH A DEEP MARINE LAYER AND STUBBORN LOW CLOUDS ACROSS MUCH
OF THE DISTRICT. LOW PRESSURE IS TRIGGERING SEVERAL THUNDERSTORMS
OVER EASTERN WASHINGTON THIS AFTERNOON...IT IS POSSIBLE ONE OF
THESE STORMS WILL CLIP MOUNT ADAMS DISTRICT LATER ON. OTHERWISE
EXPECT WEAKER ONSHORE FLOW AND WARMER TEMPERATURES AS HIGH
PRESSURE BUILDS OVER THE REGION WEDNESDAY THROUGH FRIDAY.

.DISCUSSION...LOW CLOUDS ARE SLOWLY BURNING OFF ACROSS MUCH OF
SOUTHWEST WASHINGTON AND NORTHWEST OREGON THIS AFTERNOON...AS
ONSHORE FLOW CONTINUES TO PROMOTE A DEEP MARINE LAYER ACROSS THE
DISTRICT. LOW PRESSURE IS DRIFTING SOUTHEAST ACROSS EASTERN
WASHINGTON THIS AFTERNOON...TRIGGERING SEVERAL THUNDERSTORMS EAST
OF THE CASCADES. IT IS POSSIBLE THAT ONE OF THESE STORMS WILL WRAP
BACK TOWARDS MOUNT ADAMS LATER THIS AFTERNOON. THIS LOW PRESSURE
SYSTEM IS EXPECTED TO CONTINUE EAST-SOUTHEAST INTO THE ROCKIES
WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY...ALLOWING A WARM UPPER LEVEL RIDGE OF HIGH
PRESSURE TO BUILD ACROSS THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST. THIS WILL RESULT
IN A WARMING AND DRYING TREND STARTING WEDNESDAY...CONTINUING
THROUGH AT LEAST FRIDAY. AS INLAND VALLEYS PUSH INTO THE 80S...
EXPECT A THERMAL TROUGH TO DEVELOP ALONG THE WILLAMETTE VALLEY...
ADDING A BIT OF INSTABILITY TO THE LOWER LEVELS OF THE ATMOSPHERE
BY THE END OF THE WEEK. LOW PRESSURE MAY APPROACH FROM THE
SOUTHWEST SUNDAY OR MONDAY...INCREASING THE CHANCE OF SHOWERS AND
THUNDERSTORMS ESPECIALLY IN THE CASCADES. WEAGLE
