SPOT FORECAST FOR SRS CMPT 35...US FOREST SERVICE
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE COLUMBIA SC
703 AM EST SAT JAN 31 2015

FORECAST IS BASED ON IGNITION TIME OF 0900 EST ON JANUARY 31.
IF CONDITIONS BECOME UNREPRESENTATIVE...CONTACT THE NATIONAL WEATHER
SERVICE.

.DISCUSSION...GONNA BE A DRY DAY AGAIN...BUT EVEN SO...WE DO HAVE
SOME FORECAST ISSUES TO DISCUSS AND RELAY ON THIS MORNING.

FIRST OFF WE DO EXPECT TO HAVE A WIND SHIFT THROUGHOUT THE BURN
TIME PERIOD. SURFACE WINDS WILL BE LIGHT AND VARIABLE THIS MORNING
BUT SHOULD BE TURNING OUT OF A GENERAL LIGHT EASTERLY DIRECTION
TOWARDS IGNITION TIME. AS THE CENTER OF AN AREA OF HIGH PRESSURE
MOVES EASTWARD JUST OFF TO THE NORTH OF THE BURN SITE BY THE EARLY
AFTERNOON...THESE WINDS ARE ACTUALLY FORECAST TO TURN MORE SOUTHEAST
BY NOON...THEN SOUTH BY 2 PM. WIND SPEEDS AT THE SURFACE ARE
EXPECTED TO REMAIN BETWEEN 4 AND 7 MPH THROUGH THE TIME OF THE
WIND SHIFTS. TRANSPORT WINDS ARE FORECAST TO DO MUCH OF THE SAME.

ANOTHER CONCERN THROUGH THE DAY IS GOING TO BE THE RH VALUES. THIS
IS DUE TO THE LOW DEWPOINTS THAT WILL BE ACROSS THE AREA. AT THIS
TIME THE LOWEST RH VALUES ARE FORECAST TO DROP INTO THE UPPER TEENS
BUT COULD BE SLIGHTLY LOWER IF SURFACE DEWPOINTS CAN DROP FURTHER
INTO THE SINGLE DIGITS. SLOW DEWPOINT RECOVERY IS EXPECTED TO BEGIN
OCCURRING BY EARLY EVENING AS SOUTHERLY WINDS BEGIN SLOWLY BRINGING
LIMITED MOISTURE BACK INTO THE AREA.

FINAL CONCERN FOR MIXING LATER THIS MORNING AND INTO THE AFTERNOON
DEALS WITH SOME MID AND UPPER LEVEL CLOUDINESS THAT IS MOVING INTO
WESTERN GA. BASED ON THE CURRENT SPEED AND TRACK...THIS CLOUD COVER
COULD GET CLOSE TO THE BURN SITE BY LATE MORNING...LASTING INTO THE
AFTERNOON.

WITH THE LIGHT WINDS AND DRY AIRMASS TONIGHT...WE DO EXPECT AN
INVERSION TO SETUP SHORTLY BEFORE SUNSET.
