...Widespread gusty winds through early Tuesday afternoon across
much of southwestern California with damaging gusts in some
areas...

.Strong northwest to north winds will affect many portions of
Southwest California through this evening, with winds shifting
to a more northeast direction overnight into Tuesday. Damaging
wind gusts to 60 mph are likely in the mountains and the Antelope
Valley. A wind advisory has been added for the foothills of the San
Gabriel Valley with this update. Winds will gradually diminish in
most areas by Tuesday afternoon.

TUESDAY...

* Winds and Timing...Areas of northwest to north winds
  30 to 45 mph with damaging gusts to 65 mph through this evening
  shifting to the northeast overnight into Tuesday. Winds will
  be strongest through the I-5 corridor. Winds will diminish some
  Tuesday morning but remain gusty through early Tuesday
  afternoon.

* Impacts...Winds this strong may down trees and power lines,
  causing property damage or power outages. Cross winds can make
  driving difficult, especially for drivers of high profile
  vehicles and vehicles towing trailers.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A High Wind Warning means that damaging high winds of 58 mph or
greater are likely or imminent. Secure all loose outdoor
furniture in advance of the onset of strong winds. Monitor the
latest forecasts on NOAA Weather Radio or your favorite media
source.

  strongest through passes and canyons of the Santa Ynez Range.
  Winds will diminish late tonight.

* Impacts...Winds this strong may down trees and power lines,
  causing property damage or power outages. Cross winds can make
  driving difficult, especially for drivers of high profile
  vehicles and vehicles towing trailers. The strong winds will
  likely impact travel across portions of highways 101 and 154.

  diminish. The strongest winds are expected in western portions of
  the Antelope Valley and in the foothills.

* Impacts...Winds this strong may down trees and power lines,
  causing property damage or power outages. Cross winds can make
  driving difficult, especially for drivers of high profile
  vehicles and vehicles towing trailers. The strong winds will
  likely impact travel across portions of Highways 14 and 138.
  Areas of blowing dust may reduce visibilities to one half mile
  or less at times.

VALLEY UNTIL 2 PM PDT TUESDAY...

The National Weather Service in Los Angeles/Oxnard has issued a
Wind Advisory for the foothills, which is in effect until 2 PM
PDT Tuesday.

* Winds and Timing...Areas of northwest to north winds 20 to 30
  mph with gusts to 50 mph will affect the foothills of the San
  Gabriel Valley through this evening, then shift to northeast
  later tonight into Tuesday.

* Impacts...Cross winds can make driving difficult, especially for
  drivers of high profile vehicles and vehicles towing trailers.
  Foothill communities along the Interstate 210 corridor will be
  especially vulnerable to the strong winds.
