...HIGH WIND WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM MIDNIGHT TONIGHT TO
8 AM PDT FRIDAY...

* TIMING...Downslope winds will develop overnight and end Friday
  morning as a cold front passes.

* WINDS...West winds gusting as high as 70 to 80 mph,
  particularly at the mouths of canyons.

* IMPACTS...Travel in and near the foothills will become
  difficult. Outdoor activities could become dangerous.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A High Wind Warning means a hazardous high wind event is expected
or occurring. Strong winds can make driving dangerous...rapidly
reduce visibility in dust prone areas and lead to property
damage.

The National Weather Service in Las Vegas has issued a Wind
Advisory, which is in effect from 8 AM PDT /8 AM MST/ to 8 PM PDT
/8 PM MST/ Friday.

* TIMING...Winds will increase Friday morning, peak in the
  afternoon, and decrease after sunset.

* WINDS...West to southwest winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts 35 to 45
  mph.

* IMPACTS...Strong crosswinds could make travel hazardous on north
  south roadways. Visibility could also be reduced in areas due
  to blowing dust.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Wind Advisory means strong winds gusting over 40 mph can make
driving difficult...especially for high profile vehicles. Use
extra caution.

  particularly east of the mouths of canyons in the Sierra.

* IMPACTS...Sudden crosswinds could make travel hazardous near and
  west of US Highway 395, especially for high profile vehicles.
  Visibility may also be reduced due to areas of blowing dust.
