FLOOD WARNINGS ARE IN EFFECT FOR THESE LOCATIONS IN THE SOURIS
RIVER BASIN...

THE SOURIS RIVER NEAR FOXHOLM...TOWNER...BANTRY...AND WESTHOPE AS
WELL AS WILLOW CREEK NEAR WILLOW CITY.

MINOR FLOODING IS OCCURRING BETWEEN LAKE DARLING AND RURAL AREAS
UPSTREAM OF MINOT. DOWNSTREAM OF MINOT THERE IS MINOR TO MODERATE
FLOODING FROM JUST BELOW VELVA UP THROUGH THE TOWNER AND BANTRY
AREAS. HOWEVER...IN THE SOURIS RIVER NEAR WESTHOPE THE CURRENT
WATER LEVEL IS NEAR THE FIFTH HIGHEST ON RECORD. ELSEWHERE IN THE
SOURIS RIVER BASIN...NUMEROUS OTHER SMALL STREAMS...PRAIRIE
POTHOLES...AND LAKES SUCH AS LAKE METIGOSHE HAVE RECEIVED ENOUGH
RUNOFF TO BE PROBLEMATIC. MOST OF THESE HAVE STARTED TO RECEDE BUT
LOCALIZED PROBLEMS MAY PERSIST FOR AN EXTENDED PERIOD OF TIME
WHERE ROADWAYS HAVE BEEN INUNDATED BY RISING SURFACE WATERS.

LOWER RELEASES FROM LAKE DARLING ARE EXPECTED BEGINNING ON MONDAY
JULY 14 AND WILL QUICKLY RESULT IN LOWER WATER LEVELS BETWEEN LAKE
DARLING AND THE RURAL AREAS UPSTREAM OF MINOT. HOWEVER...IT WILL
STILL BE MANY DAYS BEFORE ANY RELIEF IS OBSERVED IN THE AREA FROM
TOWNER TO WESTHOPE.
