A band of showers with some of the showers having heavy rain
will cross the mountains late this evening then weaken as it
reaches the foothills and piedmont late tonight.

Rainfall amounts will average a half inch or more near the
Great Smoky Mountains tonight.  Rainfall will average a quarter
to near a half inch for the rest of the mountains.
Rainfall will average less than a quarter of an inch
in the foothills and piedmont.

Major rivers are expected to remain nearly steady over the next
couple of days. There may be small rises near the Smokies.
