Significant rises are expected on the following rivers:

The Jacks Fork River at Eminence. Flood stage is 12.0 feet. The
latest stage was 9.1 feet at 4 PM Thursday. The river may rise to
near 9.5 feet by 7 PM today.

The Big Piney  below Fort Leonard Wood East Gate. Flood stage is 8.0
feet. The latest stage was 3.8 feet at 4 PM Thursday. The river may
rise to near 6.4 feet by 7 AM Friday.

The Elk River near Tiff City. Flood stage is 15.0 feet. The latest
stage was 12.9 feet at 3 PM Thursday. The river may rise to near 13.8
feet by 7 PM today.

The James River at Galena. Flood stage is 15.0 feet. The latest stage
was 8.6 feet at 3 PM Thursday. The river may rise to near 11.7 feet
by 7 AM Friday.

Do not drive through flowing water. Nearly half of all flood
fatalities are vehicle related. As little as 6 inches of water may
cause you to lose control of your vehicle. Two feet of water will
carry most vehicles away.
