...BLACK ICE POSSIBLE ACROSS MUCH OF NORTHERN AND EASTERN MAINE
TONIGHT...

TEMPERATURES NEAR OR ABOVE FREEZING COMBINED WITH PATCHY SUNSHINE
ALLOWED FOR FURTHER SNOWMELT TODAY. AS THE SUN GOES DOWN AND
TEMPERATURES DROP...THIS MAY RESULT IN PATCHES OF BLACK
ICE...ESPECIALLY ON UNTREATED ROADS...PARKING LOTS...AND
SIDEWALKS. LIGHT SNOW SHOWERS ALSO CONTINUE AROUND THE
REGION...AND A DUSTING OF SNOW MAY ACT TO COVER UP ICE AND MAKE IT
HARDER TO DETECT.

MOTORISTS SHOULD BE CAREFUL WHEN DRIVING THIS EVENING AND
OVERNIGHT AND STAY ALERT FOR CHANGING ROAD CONDITIONS. SURFACES
THAT APPEAR TO BE JUST WET OR SNOW COVERED MAY HAVE A THIN GLAZE
OF ICE. SLOW DOWN AND LEAVE PLENTY OF ROOM BETWEEN YOU AND THE CAR
IN FRONT OF YOU.
