...BRIEF SURGE OF STRONG NORTHWEST WINDS MOVING IN BEHIND COLD
FRONT...

At 944 PM CDT, Doppler radar and automated surface observations were
were tracking gusty northwest winds along a cold front extending
from near Ord, to Lexington, to Wilsonville. Movement was east-
southeast at 45 mph.

As this front continues across portions of south central Nebraska
and north central Kansas this evening, a brief surge of northwest
winds gusting into the 35 to 45 MPH range will occur. Winds this
strong are unlikely to last more than 30 to 60 minutes at any given
location, with a decrease in speeds as the night goes on.

Through 11 PM, locations impacted by these stronger winds include...
Kearney, Lexington, Holdrege, Ord, Cozad, Minden, Greeley, St. Paul,
Gibbon, Ravenna, Wood River, Alma, Cambridge, Shelton, Loup City,
Arapahoe, Elm Creek, Cairo, Oxford and Bertrand.

This includes Interstate 80 between mile markers 220 and 302.
