...HOT TEMPERATURES ARE EXPECTED THROUGH THE WEEKEND AND INTO
NEXT WEEK...

A HIGH PRESSURE SYSTEM OVER THE WESTERN UNITED STATES WILL
REMAIN STATIONARY AND DOMINATE THE AREAS WEATHER WITH HOT
TEMPERATURES. AFTERNOON HIGH TEMPERATURES WILL CLIMB EVEN HIGHER
THIS WEEKEND SOARING INTO THE 100S ACROSS PORTIONS OF THE COLUMBIA
BASIN...FOOTHILLS...AND THE YAKIMA AND KITTITAS VALLEY AS WELL AS
THE GORGE. THE HOT TEMPERATURES WILL CONTINUE INTO NEXT WEEK AND
LITTLE RELIEF FROM THE HEAT CAN BE EXPECTED OVERNIGHT.

MAINTAINING PROPER HYDRATION WILL BE VERY IMPORTANT FOR THE NEXT
SEVERAL DAYS. AVOID EXTRA EXERTION DURING THE AFTERNOON AND EARLY
EVENING HOURS. DO NOT LEAVE CHILDREN OR PETS UNATTENDED IN CARS.
