...Data for Little Rock for January 2018...

.Summary...
Cold weather at the end of December continued into January. In fact,
Little Rock saw some of the coldest weather in several decades
during the month. There were a few periods warmer than average,
mainly during the second and fourth weeks. The coldest periods were
from the 1st through the 7th, and the 12th through the 19th, when
daily temperatures were as much as 10-25 degrees below average. The
month ended a little over three and a half degrees below average. By
average temperature, though, this January was the coldest in 30
years. For the first January since 2014, Little Rock recorded single-
digit temperatures. On the 17th, the low temperature fell to 7
degrees above zero, which was the coldest temperature since February
of 1996.

Rainfall was below average, but this was still the wettest January
in two years.

Snowfall was slightly above average. This was the most snowfall
during the month in two years.

.Monthly Temperatures...
The average high temperature was the coldest since 2010. The average
low temperature was the coldest since 2014. The average monthly
temperature, however, was the coldest since 1988.

.Daily Temperatures...
Daily temperatures were above average on 14 days, and below average
on 17 days.

There were four days with high temperatures at or below freezing,
which was the most since 2011.

There were 22 days with low temperatures at or below freezing, which
was the most since 2014.

There were three days with temperatures at or below 10 degrees,
which was the most since 1988.

.Monthly Rainfall...
Even though rainfall was below average, it was still the wettest
January since 2016.

.Monthly Snowfall...
It was the snowiest January since 2016. Also, the average snow depth
for the month was the most since 2016.

.Miscellaneous Phenomena...
On the 22nd, a 53 MPH wind gust was recorded with the passage of a
strong thunderstorm. This was the highest wind gust recorded in the
month of January since 2008, and the 3rd highest wind gust recorded
during the month. The two highest were 62 MPH on January 31, 1973
and 54 MPH on January 29, 2008. Over all, it`s about the 23rd
highest wind gust, tied most recently with October 6, 2014.

On the 1st, the pressure rose to 30.90 inches. While not a record,
it is the highest sea level pressure since January 7, 2015, and the
8th highest over all.
