URGENT - MARINE WEATHER MESSAGE

...SOUTH WINDS AND WAVES TO INCREASE TODAY...

.AN APPROACHING LOW PRESSURE AREA IN THE PLAINS WILL MOVE EAST
TODAY AND ACROSS LAKE MICHIGAN LATE TONIGHT AND EARLY THURSDAY.
A TIGHTENING PRESSURE GRADIENT AHEAD OF THE LOW WILL RESULT IN
GUSTY SOUTH TO SOUTHEAST WINDS DEVELOPING TODAY AND CONTINUING
INTO TONIGHT...LIKELY REACHING SMALL CRAFT ADVISORY CRITERIA.

THE SOUTH TO SOUTHEAST WINDS WILL CAUSE WAVE HEIGHTS TO INCREASE
TO 3 TO 7 FEET.

AS THE LOW PRESSURE MOVES ACROSS LAKE MICHIGAN LATE TONIGHT AND
EARLY THURSDAY...A TEMPORARY LULL IN THE WINDS IS EXPECTED...WHICH
WILL ALLOW WAVE HEIGHTS TO DECREASE.

NORTHWEST WINDS WILL INCREASE AGAIN LATER THURSDAY MORNING AS THE
LOW MOVES OFF TO THE EAST. WIND SPEEDS WILL INCREASE TO SMALL
CRAFT ADVISORY LEVELS...AND PERSIST THROUGH THURSDAY NIGHT.

HENCE A SMALL CRAFT ADVISORY WILL GO INTO AFFECT THIS AFTERNOON...
AND CONTINUE INTO EARLY FRIDAY MORNING.

* WINDS: SOUTH TO SOUTHEAST WINDS INCREASING TO 15 TO 25 KNOTS
  THIS AFTERNOON. WINDS WILL DIMINISH LATE TONIGHT AND EARLY
  THURSDAY...THEN BECOME NORTHWEST AND INCREASE TO 30 KNOTS LATER
  THURSDAY INTO THURSDAY NIGHT.

* WAVES: BUILDING TO 3 TO 6 FEET THIS AFTERNOON...AND 4 TO 7 FEET
  TONIGHT. WAVES WILL BRIEFLY DIMINISHING SOMEWHAT THURSDAY
  MORNING BEFORE INCREASING TO 3 TO 6 FEET LATER THURSDAY AND
  THURSDAY NIGHT.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A SMALL CRAFT ADVISORY MEANS THAT WIND SPEEDS OF 23 TO 33 KNOTS
AND/OR WAVES GREATER THAN 4 FEET ARE EXPECTED TO PRODUCE
HAZARDOUS CONDITIONS TO SMALL CRAFT. INEXPERIENCED MARINERS...
ESPECIALLY THOSE OPERATING SMALLER VESSELS SHOULD AVOID
NAVIGATING IN THESE CONDITIONS.
