URGENT - MARINE WEATHER MESSAGE

...GUSTY OFF SHORE WINDS DEVELOPING LATER TONIGHT...

.LOW PRESSURE MOVING ACROSS SOUTHERN CANADA AND HIGH PRESSURE
SAGGING TO THE SOUTH OF THE GREAT LAKES WILL RESULT IN A
TIGHTENING PRESSURE GRADIENT ACROSS SOUTHERN LAKE MICHIGAN
TONIGHT. THIS WILL CAUSE INCREASING SOUTHWEST WINDS WHICH ARE
EXPECTED TO REACH SMALL CRAFT ADVISORY LEVELS LATE TONIGHT AND
CARRY OVER THROUGH FRIDAY.

THE OFFSHORE WINDS WILL CAUSE INCREASE WAVES WITH THE HIGHEST
WAVES TOWARDS THE OPEN WATERS.

* WINDS: SOUTHWEST INCREASING TO 15 TO 20 KNOTS WITH GUSTS TO 25
  KNOTS LATE TONIGHT INTO FRIDAY EVENING.

* WAVES: 1 TO 3 FEET BUILDING TO 2 TO 4 FEET LATER TONIGHT...
  CONTINUING THROUGH FRIDAY. THE HIGHEST WAVES WILL BE TOWARD THE
  OPEN WATER.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A SMALL CRAFT ADVISORY MEANS THAT WIND SPEEDS OF 23 TO 33 KNOTS
AND/OR WAVES GREATER THAN 4 FEET ARE EXPECTED TO PRODUCE
HAZARDOUS CONDITIONS TO SMALL CRAFT. INEXPERIENCED MARINERS...
ESPECIALLY THOSE OPERATING SMALLER VESSELS SHOULD AVOID
NAVIGATING IN THESE CONDITIONS.
