058 FZUS52 KTAE 041557 SRFTAE Surf Zone Forecast National Weather Service Tallahassee FL 1157 AM EDT Sat May 4 2024 .THE SURF ZONE FORECAST GENERAL OUTLOOK... ...HIGH RISK OF RIP CURRENTS AT ALL LOCAL BEACHES... Onshore flow is forecast to increase later today as southerly swell with a 6 second period nears the coast this afternoon. Although non- State Park flags are flying yellow this morning, conditions should become more supportive for rip currents as the seabreeze augments the onshore flow. Surf heights are forecast to increase to around 2 feet for most of the area beaches by the afternoon. Similar conditions are expected again Sunday into at least Monday. As a result, a High Risk of Rip Currents was issued for area beaches through the weekend.
