NWS Birmingham proposes to discontinue the legacy Cooperative Observer and Automated Rain Gauge Reports Text Product (OSOBMX) on 1 June 2024. The information contained in this text product is available in a more accessible and detailed format on the NOWData page available at: https://www.weather.gov/wrh/climate?wfo=bmx. The NOWData page also provides additional data products for each Cooperative Observer station that the legacy text product does not provide, such as a daily almanac, monthly summarized data, and daily/monthly normals. Additionally, a mapping option on the NOWData page allows you to visualize the station locations, and you can also add additional data points such as CoCoRaHS stations. $$
