The National Weather Service in Pleasant Hill MO has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Linn County in east central Kansas...
  Bates County in west central Missouri...

* Until 145 AM CDT.

* At 748 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
  heavy rain across the warned area. Between 0.5 and 2 inches of
  rain have fallen in Linn county Kansas. Heavy rainfall will
  shortly begin affecting Bates county Missouri. Additional rainfall
  amounts of 0.5 to 1.5 inches are possible in the warned area.
  Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

  SOURCE...Radar.

  IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
           areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
           other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Butler, Adrian, Rich Hill, Pleasanton, La Cygne, Mound City,
  Drexel, Linn Valley, Hume, Parker, Blue Mound, Prescott,
  Amsterdam, Amoret, Rockville, Foster, Merwin, Passaic, Worland and
  Ballard.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
