...TSUNAMI COMMUNICATIONS TEST ON MARCH 27TH, 2024...

The National Weather Service in Eureka will conduct a test of the
Tsunami Warning Communications System on Wednesday, March 27th,
between 11:00 a.m. and Noon. The test will occur in Del Norte,
Humboldt, and Mendocino counties, but could also be heard in
surrounding counties.

During the test you will hear a tone alert on NOAA Weather Radio,
followed by the test message. The test will also interrupt
television and radio stations by activating the Emergency Alert
System. Tsunami sirens will be activated in some areas. Reverse
calling systems may be tested by some jurisdictions and airplanes
may fly down the coast broadcasting a test message.

The test will be conducted in lieu of the required weekly test of
the Emergency Alert System that is routinely scheduled on
Wednesday.

Once again, the National Weather Service in Eureka will be
conducting a test of the tsunami warning communications system on
Wednesday, March 27th, between 11 a.m. and Noon.
