.DISCUSSION...
Shortwave trough will be digging south across the Great Basin
through midweek to develop into a closed low in the desert
Southwest for the weekend.

As the trough begins developing across the Pacific Northwest
today, a weak shortwave ejects into the Prairie provinces, with
an Alberta clipper type system pushing two front over eastern
Montana. Warm front lifts east this morning, with scattered light
rain with minimal if any accumulation. Cold front is pulled south
on Wednesday beginning a drop in temperatures the continues into
Thursday. With the additional clouds across the region over the
next few day, went with straight NBM for temperatures.

Temperatures will continue to yo-yo through the weekend and into
next week, with the development of a Rex block over the west.
Position of the boundary between the BC ridge and Hudson Bay low
will have the highest impact on the forecast.
