Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Alabama
National Weather Service Huntsville AL
308 PM CDT Mon Apr 22 2024

.DISCUSSION...

Sunny skies and dry conditions have resulted in RH values in the
25-35% range across northern AL this afternoon. However, these
values should recover quickly this evening, as mostly clear skies
and calm winds will allow temps to fall into the u30s-l40s. A
south-southwest return flow will become established over the
region tomorrow, but this will initially have little to no impact
on moisture recovery, with another day featuring afternoon RH in
the 30-40% range. A weak cold front will drop southward into the
TN Valley early Wednesday morning, perhaps bringing some showers
and a few thunderstorms to portions of the forecast area. Smoke
dispersion indices will be in the good range tomorrow, but will
fall into the fair to generally good range on Wednesday due to
lower mixing heights and lighter transport winds. The extended
forecast will feature a low chance for showers and thunderstorms
on Thursday, followed by a more pronounced increase in low-level
moisture late this week. The next substantial chance for rainfall
appears as if it will be next Monday.

Fog potential over the next few days: Patchy fog will be possible
early tomorrow morning, mainly in the vicinity of large water
sources.

Potential for Red Flag Conditions: None at this time.
